Obituary of Nellie Shreffler
Mrs. Nellie Shreffler, 89, of 9361 LeBoeuf Trail Rd., Titusville went home to be with the Lord at 10:55 AM on Saturday, January 23, 2010. She had been a patient at the Titusville Area Hospital at the time.
Mrs. Shreffler was born on September 21, 1920 in Akron, OH to the late Hobart M. Cornmesser and Wilda M. McKee. She married Lawrence R. Shreffler on January 3, 1942 at Nickelville. Mr. Shreffler preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1995.
She was a graduate of Emlenton High School, class of 1937.
Mrs. Shreffler was a charter member of the Chapmanville Community Church where she taught Sunday school and belonged to the Women’s Missionary Society.
She enjoyed quilting and gardening, and loved to be with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Shreffler is survived by four children, Rod N. Shreffler and wife Judy of Franklin, Joyce Radmore and her husband Richard of Titusville, Allen B. Shreffler and wife Reina of Syracuse, NY, and Terry R. Shreffler and his wife Carolyn of Titusville; eight grandchildren, Roberta Shreffler and husband Lloyd Addison, Sue Rodgers and husband Tim, Duane Radmore and wife Janis, Mark Radmore and wife Sue, Allen Shreffler II and wife Nain, Lari Shreffler, Renee Shreffler, Gary Shreffler and wife Mary Jo; seven great grandchildren Ryan Addison, Kyle Addison, Dayle Rodgers, Alexandra Rodgers, Logan Radmore, Reghan Radmore, Kaleb Radmore; one brother, Bert Cornmesser and wife Betty of Franklin; two sisters-in-law, Isabell Cornmesser of Oil City, Myrna Cornmesser of Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary L. Shreffler; two sisters, Mary Jane Kessler and Gladys Hall; and two brothers, Guy Cornmesser and H. James Cornmesser.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted from the Chapmanville Community Church on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Glen Van Cise, officiating.
Interment will be in the Chapmanville Cemetery.
