Obituary of Dora M. Bossard
Mrs. Dora M. Bossard, 84, of Pleasant St., Hydetown died at 4:10 PM on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Bossard was born on May 7, 1925 in Plumer to the late Earl and Amelia Gilts Burt.
She attended Oil City area schools.
Mrs. Bossard was formerly employed as a waitress at the Log Cabin in Seneca. She also worked for several other restaurants in the area.
She enjoyed playing bingo, going to auctions and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Bossard is survived by her husband, Paul B. Bossard of Hydetown whom she married on Oct. 5, 1991 in Meadville; three sons, Gordon “Skip” Cook and wife Charlotte of Pleasantville, Terry Cook and wife Ginger of Jupiter, FL, Craig Cook and wife Janice of Oil City; two daughters, Kay Manchi and husband James of Jupiter, FL, Vera Haining and husband Mel of Lodi, CA; nine grandchildren, Matthew Cook and wife Allyson of Hershey, Michael Cook of Oil City, Aaron Cook, Amy Cook both of FL, Clinton Haining, Robin Haining both of CA, Christopher Cook wife Julie of Pleasantville, Kristina Cherry husband Bill of Pleasantville, Krishell Carter of Titusville; six great grandchildren, Travis Cherry and wife Amy of Titusville, Kayla Riley and husband Brenden of Titusville, Reise Cook of Pleasantville, Shawna Carter, Kearstin Carter of Titusville, Seirra Cook of Hershey; two great great-grandchildren, Makaylee Carter, Adyson Cherry both of Titusville; two brothers, Alvin Burt and wife Eleanor of Titusville, Allen Burt and wife Marilyn of Wesleyville; four sisters, Marie Bennett of Turkey City, Kathryn Acel of Oil City, Bernice Bennett of Titusville, Shirley Settlemire of Oil City; and numerous niece, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, LeRoy Cook and Bob Lynch; a daughter, Karen Cook; two brothers, Glenn and Donald Burt; and two sisters, Beatrice Wilson and Helen Wagner.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service from the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dana Lewis of the Mt. Carmel Tabernacle, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Catharines Cemetery.
