Obituary of Doris Juanita Romine
Mrs. D. Juanita Romine, 80, of 2109 Meadville Rd Titusville, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the Titusville Area Hospital.
Juanita was born January 28, 1933 in Central Station, WV to the late Ella Hoalcraft. She married Rev. Ralph Romine, Sr. on January 19, 1952 in Sparta, NC. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1995.
She attended Central Station Schools.
Mrs. Romine worked at J.P Macys Furniture store in Knox, and was later employed by Ruth and Smith Nursing Home in Sheffield as an aide until her retirement in 1994.
Juanita loved gardening and watching her humming birds. She loved jokes and was known for pulling pranks on friends and family. Juanita also enjoyed sewing, shopping and being able to cheer anyone up when they were down.
Mrs. Romine was a member of the Diamond United Methodist Church. She also served in every charge with her husband starting in Pennsboro, WV, and moving to Carreta, WV, Crapo, MD, Cabot, Beaver Falls, Warren, Tionesta, Knox, and Sheffield, PA.
She is survived by her eight children, Cathy Blum and husband Tim of Tionesta, Ralph Romine and wife Vicki of Butler, Mae McGuire and husband Gary of Middleburg, PA, Cyndy Romine of Titusville, Marsha Romine of Sheffield, Randy Romine of Titusville, Keith Romine of Middleburg, PA, and Kevin Romine and wife Jill of York, PA; Sixteen grandchildren, Melissa Custer and husband Clifford, Cara Blum, Jody and Jamie Romine, Michael, Christopher and Janna McGuire, Brandon Troutman, Autumn Moe and Husband Ryan, Meaghan Kessinger, Kala, Keith Jr. and Kadian Romine, and Gaven and Patrick Romine; Fifteen great-grandchildren, Braden and Keyon Custer, Kiley Oliver, Brittany, Tyler, Bethany Nulph, Hope and Danyelle Bartchy, William Lohr-McGuire, Lily Troutman, Jesse and Brooke Campbell, Darren Moe, Ashlynn and Paige Beeman, and one great grandchild on the way; a brother-in-law Albert Romine; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother and husband Mrs. Romine was preceded in death by an infant daughter; three sisters Ruby Garner, Elsie Lipscomb and Margaret Hamilton; two sisters in law, Adeline Sandy and Donna Baker; and a very special Yorkie, “Dusty”.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Friday from 1 to 3 PM at which time the funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Mark Debase. Interment will be at Diamond Cemetery.
