Obituary of Harold S. Davis

Mr. Harold S. Davis, 88, formerly of Tionesta died at 2:55 PM on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Erie. He had been a resident there since January. Mr. Davis was born on April 28, 1921 in Tionesta to the late Merrill and Mary Ralston Davis. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army. Mr. Davis was employed for several years as a carpenter with the Oil City Carpenters Union. He was a member of the Cleo J. Ross Post 368 American Legion. Mr. Davis is survived by two daughters, Boo Maginnis of Titusville, Cris Moore and her husband Paul of Centerville; two sons, Harvey Davis of Centerville and David “Buss” Davis and his wife Dixie of Titusville; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his former wife Wilma Kline; four sons, Garold “Abe” Davis, Phillip Davis, Randy Davis and Rodney Davis; and one sister, Gracie Davis. A private funeral service will be conducted for the family at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Kinnear of the Breedtown Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Allegheny Twp., Venango Co. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
