Obituary of Regina L. Dougherty Stancil

Regina L. “Jeannie” Dougherty Stancil, 67, of Pleasantville, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie. Jeannie was born on October 24, 1948 at Harrisburg, PA, a daughter of Evelyn Walls Dougherty and the late Paul Dougherty. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy, class of 1966 and had also attended Youngstown State University. Jeannie had been employed by American Express for a number of years and the Carnation Company, both in Arizona. She also worked at Thorofare Markets in Youngstown, OH. Jeannie was a former member of St. Titus Church. She was an avid reader; enjoyed bowling and taking care of her pet dogs and cats. While residing in Arizona, she enjoyed gold mining as a hobby. She was also an avid Steelers and Penguins fan. Jeannie played basketball while in high school and was a member of the Debate Club, Drama department, History Club, and member of the school chorus. Jeannie is survived by her mother of Titusville; a son, Robert Joseph Madden of Pleasantville; four grandchildren, Jackie, Mariah, Mindy and Matthew; a great grandson; four brothers, Paul F. Dougherty and wife Janie of Selinsgrove, John P. Dougherty and wife Barbara of Plumer, Jeffrey M. Dougherty and wife Fran, and Joseph M. Dougherty and wife Kim, all of Titusville; two sisters, Deborah Jones and husband Rodney, and Lisa M. Bowser and husband Dave, all of Titusville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Titus Church with Fr. Walter E. Packard as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Catharines Cemetery. The family asks that memorials be made to Benson Memorial Library 213 N. Franklin St. Titusville, PA 16354.
