Obituary of James L. Titus

Mr. James L. “Jim” Titus, 74, of 11818 Campbell Rd. Titusville, died suddenly on Thursday January 7, 2016 at UPMC Hamot in Erie. Jim was born on June 27, 1941 in Titusville to the late Earl and Erma Langworthy Titus. He married Jane Biel on August 12, 1969 in New York. He attended Titusville Schools. Jim worked for many years for the City of Titusville until his retirement. For the last four years Jim was a driver for the Amish community. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed being with his friends and family at his home that he was so proud of. Jim also loved being with his dog Sam. Jim is survived by his wife Jane of Titusville; four children, Michelle Curtze and husband Steve of McKean, Shawn Titus and wife Melanie of Franklin, Paula Titus and companion Michael Wolfe of Titusville, and Travis Titus and wife Vanessa of Titusville; eight grandchildren, Allie Cutze of Columbus, OH, Ryan Titus and wife Anita of Washington, PA, Bradley Titus of Washington, PA, Seth Titus and wife Amana of Washington, PA, Chelsea Patterson of Pittsburgh, Abigail Patterson of Titusville, and Hunter and Mason Titus of Titusville; two great grandchildren, Drenon and Ryvers Titus of Washinton, PA; a brother Edward Titus and wife Carina of Titusville; two sisters, Evelyn McIver of Titusville, and Lois DeGroot of Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a step-father Lloyd Carpenter; a son Michael Joel Titus; five brothers Earl, Lloyd, Charles, Ronald, and William Titus; and a step-sister Mary Loney. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. on Monday from 2-3 PM at which time a memorial service will be conducted.
