Obituary of Cleo C. Haehn

Mr. Cleo C. Haehn, 92, formerly of Grand Valley passed away Monday evening January 18, 2016, at the Rouse Warren County Home in Youngsville. He had been a resident there for the past 4 years. Mr. Haehn was born on June 22, 1923, in Grand Valley to the late Wendolyn C. and Olive Ruth Thompson Haehn. He married Doris P. Cornell on October 9, 1942, in Russell, KY. Mrs. Haehn preceded him in death on May 15, 2004. He attended the Grand Valley area schools. Mr. Haehn was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy. He entered the service on October 30, 1943, at Warren and was honorably discharged on January 14, 1946, at the Naval Training Center in Bainbridge, MD with the rank of T3. He returned home and was employed by Universal Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. in Titusville for over 30 years. Mr. Haehn attended Grand Valley United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing bingo, camping, and working on the family farm. Cleo is survived by 3 sons, Joseph C. Haehn and wife Penny, Terry C. Haehn and wife Kathleen, Timothy K. Haehn and wife Beth all of Grand Valley; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, C. David Haehn; his 2nd wife, Isabelle Mae Lyon who he married on March 3, 2013, and passed away on March 4, 2015; 2 grandchildren, James O’Brien and Barbara Haehn; a great granddaughter, Ashley Haight Dean; a brother, John Haehn; and 3 sisters, Sara Hunt, Marian Birchard, and Lois Haehn. Friends may call at Hennes-Garrett Funeral Home 203 E. Main St., Titusville, PA 16354 today (Wednesday) from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and attend the funeral service from the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Marcus Briggs, Chaplain of the Rouse Warren County Home, officiating. Interment will be in Maultby Cemetery, Warren County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Valley Vol. Fire Dept., Grand Valley, PA 16420, or to the charity of one’s choice.
