Obituary of Dorothy J. Schneider
Mrs. Dorothy J. Schneider, 77, of 585 Dutch Hill Rd., Titusville passed away at 8:27 A.M. on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at the Golden LivingCenter.
Mrs. Schneider was born on February 25, 1938 in Titusville to the late Rexford and Katherine Cook Abrams. She married Glenn A. Schneider on May 14, 1965 at the former St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Mr. Schneider preceded her in death on October 10, 2008.
She attended schools in Townville and graduated from Titusville High School, class of 1956.
Mrs. Schneider was formerly employed by Fisher and Young Lumber Co. as a secretary and where she met her husband.
She was a member of the Titusville Church of Christ.
Mrs. Schneider loved to play bingo, enjoyed reading, watching TV, being outdoors and taking walks on Dutch Hill.
She is survived by two sons, Ed Schneider and wife Terese of Horsham, Mark Schneider of Titusville; a son-in-law, Bruce Bromley of Titusville; four grandchildren, Allison McNamara and husband Shawn of Broad Top, Kierston Bromley, Matthew Bromley, Sean Schneider all of Titusville; seven great grandchildren, Kelsy Miller, Kyle Schneider, Kory McNamara, Kolin McNamara, Katie McNamara, Holden Schneider, Parker Schneider; a great great-granddaughter, Landyn; and four sisters, Beverly Thomas of Erie, Betty Abrams and DeAnna Benedict of Titusville, Delma Goughler of Meadville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Schneider was preceded in death by a daughter, Jodi Bromley; a grandchild, Denver Schneider; and two brothers, Larry Abrams and Rexford Abrams, Jr.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM and attend the funeral service from the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jeff Sterling, officiating.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
