Obituary of Robert L. Rodgers
Robert L. “Bob” Rodgers, 85, of 1082 Petroleum Center Rd. Titusville, passed away Wednesday morning February 24, 2016 at his residence.
Bob was born on May 27, 1930 in Titusville, a son of the late Lloyd and Louise Prenatt Rodgers. He was married to Harriet Brickner on Nov. 10, 1951. She preceded him in death on Jan. 22, 2004. He later married Marie Brickner on June 14, 2005 in Pleasantville.
Bob was a veteran having served in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged with the rank of corporal.
He was a truck driver most of his working career having retired from Manion Steel Barrel after 42 years of employment.
Bob was a member of St. Titus Church. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, the outdoors, being with his children and grandchildren, and spending time with his wife Marie. Bob was known for his wry sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of Titusville; the following children, Robert Rodgers and wife Debbie of Meadville, Theresa Kush and husband Andy of Geneva, OH, Lloyd Rodgers and wife Holly of Franklin, Michael Rodgers of Reno, NV, Wendy Rodgers and partner Sabrina Eaton of Takoma Park, MD, Susan Braat and husband Don of Mentor, OH, and Christi Hedegore and husband Rodger of Huntersville, NC; a step-daughter, Pamela Smith of Warsaw, NY; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; four brothers, Don Rodgers of Florida, Bruce Rodgers and wife Helen of Franklin, Greg Rodgers and wife Kathy of Titusville, and Steve Rodgers and wife Anne of Pleasantville; a sister, Marge Salsgiver and husband Jim of Diamond; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorraine Davis; a brother, Louis Rodgers; and a sister, Mary Louise Shuster.
Friends may call at the Hennes-Garrett Funeral Home 203 E. Main St. Titusville on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Titus Church with Fr. Walter E. Packard as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Catharines Cemetery with full military honors.
