Obituary of Thomas B. Weaver
Mr. Thomas B. Weaver, 70, of Foote Rd., Titusville passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016, at his residence with his wife by his side. He had been battling an illness for the past several years.
Mr. Weaver was born in Oil City on April 1, 1945, a son of the late Paul B. and Betty Y. Stivanson Weaver.
He was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1963, and attended Clarion University for 2 years on a basketball scholarship.
Tom was employed by Cytemp Steel Corp for 30 years. He worked in the finishing and straightening departments and retired from the company as the safety manager.
He was a Union President at Cytemp for 12 years, a board president for the Hydetown Volunteer Fire Department, a past president of the former Venango County Sheriff’s Posse and member of the Titusville B.P.O. Elks #264.
Tom was a sports enthusiast who loved basketball, golfing, bowling, attending all his grandchildren’s sporting events, as well as, coaching them along the way, and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan. He also enjoyed the outdoors hunting, helping his wife in the vegetable garden, and showing horses for the past 16 years at the Crawford County Fair.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Weaver of Titusville whom he married on March 27, 1965, in Titusville; 2 daughters, Julie Titus and husband Steve, Cindy Baker and companion Jamey Duncan all of Titusville; 14 grandchildren, T.J., Cindy, Rachael, Katelyn, Jasmine, Brandon, Jesse, James, Shea, Hunter, Kyle, Thomas, Matthew, Wyatt; 9 great grandchildren, Paxton, Trey, Isaac, Zenen, Isabella, Jazlynn, Raine, Bentley, and Leyton.
Tom was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Richard and Timothy Weaver.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and attend the funeral service from the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Shawn Johnson, officiating.
Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
