Obituary of Dale E. Metzgar
Mr. Dale E. Metzgar, 68, of Pleasantville, died on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at the Marquette Hospice House in Meadville.
He was born in Titusville on May 20, 1947 to Beatrice Shields Metzgar, and the late Ora L. Metzgar.
Dale graduated from Pleasantville High School, class of 1967.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having served overseas in the Vietnam War. He entered the service on August 23, 1967 at Pittsburgh, PA and was honorably discharged on August 22, 1969 at Ft. Carson, CO.
Dale worked for Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. for twenty five years, twenty of those in the rolling mill department, retiring on June 30, 1994.
He was a member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, motorcycles, going to the casino, and collecting belt buckles, coins, and records.
Dale is survived by his mother, Beatrice of Pleasantville; a son, Shane Trysinski of Warren; two daughters, Rebecca Smith of Titusville and Pam Johnson and husband Steve of Brockton, MA; three grandchildren, Christian J. Greer, Kayla Smith, and Brooke Johnson; a brother, Dan Metzgar and wife Wanda of Wrightsville, PA; three sisters, Connie Wright & husband John of Pleasantville, Nancy Masiker of Titusville, and Betty McKlveen and husband William of Pleasantville; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington Street, Titusville, PA 16354, on Wednesday, March 9 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Ed Gresick, of the Titusville First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Pleasantville with full military rites.
