Mr. Richard F. “Dick” Wheeling, 82, of Diamond passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born on November 29, 1933 in Geneva, PA to the late Clyde and Dorothy Evelyn Calvin Wheeling. Mr. Wheeling was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1952. He was first employed at Avtex Fibers in Meadville. After their closing, he worked at Oil Creek Plastics for over 20 years until his retirement in 2003. Mr. Wheeling was known by many names including Daddy Dick, Grandpa Richard, Poppa, Dickie, and Pop. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan much to the chagrin of his family. He loved hunting with his sons and grandchildren. He loved to throw ball, keep a spotless truck, and have a cold beer with his family and friends. He was also a member of Titusville Elks Lodge #264. His passion for life was obvious to anyone who heard his incredible and contagious laugh. He was well known for his unselfish willingness to help anyone anywhere, anytime while never asking or expecting anything in return. He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce Hess Wheeling; two sons Mark Wheeling and wife Koni of Cherrytree, PA, Rick Wheeling and wife Shannan of Black Ash, PA; three daughters Cindy Maynard of Saegertown, PA, Lori Kelly and husband Bill of Sunville, PA, and Lisa Graves and husband Gary of Townville, PA; a brother Ed Wheeling and wife Doris of Titusville, Pa; and a sister Karen Piszczek and husband Joe of Sherman, NY. His legacy continues as a grandfather who unconditionally loved each and every one of his 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Mr. Wheeling was preceded in death by an infant son; a grandson, Garrett Kelly; and a niece, Kimmy Jo. Family and friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, PA 16354, on Thursday, March 17th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Further visitation will be held on Friday, March 18th at the Chapmanville Community Church from 10 to 11 A.M. at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Glen Van Cise officiating.
