Obituary of Daniel A. Nageotte

Mr. Daniel A. Nageotte, 52, of 21549 Neiltown Rd., Pleasantville, left this world for a better place, free of his pain, at 8:15 PM on Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Titusville Area Hospital. Dan was born on July 2, 1958 in Meadville to the late Robert and Jeannette Sorenson Nageotte. He was a graduate of Randolph High School, class of 1976. Dan was formerly employed by Leo Bly Construction and since 1995 has worked as a Maintenance Mechanic for the Titusville Housing Authority. He had a love for the outdoors and an in-depth knowledge of nature. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, gardener and enjoyed camping. He was constantly using his talent and skills to help his family and friends with their home remodeling projects. He especially loved being with his grandchildren. Dan is survived by his wife, Kathy (LaBolle) Nageotte whom he married on Dec. 17, 1994 at the First Presbyterian Church in Titusville; six children, Tara Kocan Nichols and husband Joe of Pleasantville, Jessica Spragg and husband Donald of Wilmington, NC, Rachael Nageotte and fiancé D.J. Shaw of Townville, Rane Kocan of N. Hollywood, CA, Jenna Thiessen and husband Adam of Cassoday, KS, Mollie Nageotte of Wilmington, NC; eight grandchildren, Kersten Nageotte, Trinity Karges, Tommy Wood, Violet Karges, Haedyn Nichols, Wyatt Thiessen, Sophie Spragg, and Aubrey Nichols; one brother, James Nageotte and wife Kay of Saegertown; his mother-in-law, Billie Brown of Pleasantville; his former wife, Christine Carpenter of Townville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Nageotte; and a sister, Connie Zwicky. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Saturday, December 11th from 2 to 4 PM with a memorial service to follow conducted by Rev. Glen VanCise, pastor of the Chapmanville Community Church and longtime friend, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to be made in Dan’s name to Miracle Mountain Ranch, 101 Rodeo Drive, Spring Creek, PA 16436, to honor his love for children and the outdoors.
