Obituary of James A. Reisinger

Mr. James A. Reisinger, 86, of Pleasantville, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016, at the Titusville Golden Living Center. Mr. Reisinger was born in Lucinda, PA on November 1, 1929, All Saints’ Day, to the late Anthony and Anna Guth Reisinger. He graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Titusville. Mr. Reisinger served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, having been honorably discharged with the rank of Private First Class, in 1953. He married Mary Rybka on February 23, 1952 in Titusville at St. Walburga Catholic Church. Mr. Reisinger retired from Refiners Transportation in Rousville in 1992. During his forty years there he was the shop steward and a Trustee to the Teamsters Union 270. After his retirement he attended the Oil City Vo-Tech School, where he took classes in welding and small engines. He was also, the Allegheny Township Supervisor for twelve years. He was a member of St. Walburga Catholic Church. Mr. Reisinger was a member of the Titusville Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed working on projects, fixing things, hunting, and gardening. Mr. Reisinger is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Mary of Pleasantville; two daughters, Ann Knox and husband George of Baden, PA, and Trish Walton and husband Bruce of Mullica Hill, NJ; a son, Mark Reisinger and wife Michele of Bensalem, PA; seven grandchildren, Anthony and Alexandria Reisinger, Joseph Knox, Kaitlyn Collins and husband Patrick, Kara Alden and husband Doug, and Jenny and Anna Grace Walton; two great grandchildren, Knox Patrick Collins and Forest Alden; three sisters, Mary Ann Whitling and husband John of Lucinda, PA, Kate Deitz and husband Charlie of Warren, PA, and Reda Eisman and husband Steve of Tucson, AZ; two brothers, Paul Reisinger and wife Cindy of Erie, PA and Eugene Reisinger and wife Aggie of Phoenix, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Reisinger; and two brothers, Dennis and Regis Reisinger. Friends and family may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington Street, Titusville, PA 16354 on Friday, April 8, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 11 AM at St. Walburga Catholic Church, 120 Brook Street, Titusville, PA 16354, with Father Walter E. Packard as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery. Full military rights will be observed. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Walburga Catholic Church, 513 W. Main Street, Titusville, PA 16354. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Titusville Golden Living Center for the excellent care and hospitality they showed for Mr. Reisinger and his family.
