Obituary of Arthur W. Erickson
Mr. Arthur W. Erickson, Jr., 88, of Centerville, died on Wednesday evening, April 13, 2016 at Titusville Golden Living Center.
He was born in Titusville on August 2, 1927 to the late Arthur W. and Marie Brickner Erickson, Sr.
Mr. Erickson attended Titusville High School.
He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy. He entered in October of 1945 until September of 1946, when he was honorably discharged with the rank of Seaman 2c.
Mr. Erickson married the late Patricia A. Keating on August 21, 1947 in Titusville. She preceded him death on March 28, 2015.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Mission Church at Mageetown. He was an administrator, faithful supporter, and was very dedicated to the church. In 1996 he received the “Benemerenti Medal” by Pope John Paul II.
Mr. Erickson was also a member of the Bruce Shorts VFW Post 5958, the Titusville Moose Lodge 804, and the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club in Lakewood, NY.
He enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Mr. Erickson is survived by his daughter, Diane Robbins and companion George Wilcox of Titusville; two grandchildren, Tyson Robbins of Missoula, Montana, and Lauren Robbins of Waterford; two nieces, Barbara Rauschenberg and Monica Roessner both of Titusville; and a nephew, Dan Roessner of Erie.
He was preceded in death by a son, Arthur “Chip” Erickson; a half-sister, Jean Schmitt Proper; and a half-brother, “Bud” Schmitt.
No services will be observed at this time. A memorial mass will be conducted at a later date.
Inurnment will be at St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
