Obituary of Kenneth W. Cowher
Kenneth W. “Woodie” Cowher, 78, of Tionesta, passed away Saturday afternoon April 23, 2016 at the Titusville Area Hospital.
He was born on June 24, 1937 at Girard, OH, a son of the late Edward “Hayes” Cowher and Catherine Staron. He lived most of his life in Girard where he worked for 40 years at Syro Steel from where he retired. Following his retirement, he moved to Tionesta.
He was married to Toni Bonavita on May 22, 1992 at Sheffield, PA.
Mr. Cowher was a member of the Tionesta Church of God. Following retirement, he restored 65 Massey Harris Tractors which he showed. His restorations were his passion. He was an active member of the Friends of Massey Club. He was also an avid NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan.
He is survived by his wife of Tionesta; a daughter, Debbie Perine and Chip of Austintown, OH; two step-daughters, Julie Duncan and husband Chris of Winchester, VA and Karen Cochran and husband Tom of Port Allegany, PA; three grandchildren, Brian Landgraver and wife Heather, Eric Landgraver and wife Jada, and Jaime Guthrie and husband Will; five great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, Mary and Ryan Duncan; a brother, Pat Cowher and wife Dot of Cincinnati, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Donald Cowher; three sisters, Shirley Cowher, Thelma Kelly, and Etta Brown; and a step-son, Douglas Gruber.
No public calling hours will be observed. Friends may attend a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Tionesta Church of God with Pastor Terry McGarrity officiating.
The family asks that memorials be made to any chapter of the American Heart Association.
