Obituary of Jack D. Clark

Jack Duane Clark, 88, of Titusville, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Born January 26, 1928 in Oil City, he was the middle son of Eve Moon and Wilford A. Clark. He graduated from one of the last classes at Bloomfield Conservatory in Lincolnville. Jack served in the U.S. Army Air Corps at the conclusion of WWII. He then graduated from Coyne Electrical School in Chicago. Jack married Norma Alene Matha on December 31, 1949, and together they raised two sons, Doug and Gary. They owned Clark Apartments on Sunset Heights. He retired from Universal Cyclops after thirty-five years of employment. His passion was woodworking, masonry, and construction. During the 1960’s and early 1970’s he owned Jack D. Clark Concrete Construction and many of his sidewalks and building projects are still in use around Titusville today. Self-taught, Jack became a skilled woodworker. He built cabinetry, furniture, and other furnishings for his home and those of his boys. He was also a stonemason and created beautiful fireplaces and chimneys. He was an electrician, plumber, and all around “Jack” of all trades. All of his life he gave an enormous amount of his time and talent to help his sons and their families, and his many friends. In his retirement Jack enjoyed fishing most of the local lakes, and he fileted over one thousand pan fish during many seasons. He also visited frequently (in person and on-line) with grandchildren whom he adored, each and every one. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Norma of sixty-two years, brothers Gene and Wilford Jr., and infant granddaughter, Natalie. Jack is survived by eldest son Doug and wife Nancy of Cherrytree, Gary and fiancé Kelly Evans of Titusville, sister in law, Eva Harman, cousin, Gloria Fenton, ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. No calling hours will be observed. A private service for the family will conducted. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Centerville. The family asks that memorial contributions in Jack’s name be directed to Hospice of Crawford County, 406 W. Oak Street, Titusville, PA 16354. FLOWERS
