Obituary of Duane K. Mallory
Mr. Duane Kenneth Mallory, 80, of 426 ½ N. Drake St. Titusville, died Sunday May 22, 2016 at 1:06 AM at his residence.
Duane was born on May 12, 1936 in Titusville to the late Arthur and Virginia Baney Mallory. He married Betty J. Marsh on April 17, 1958 in Clymer, NY.
He attended Titusville schools and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy.
Duane was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He entered the service on July 15, 1953 in Buffalo, and was honorably discharged on May 2, 1957 at Norfolk, VA. He served in the U.S. 6th Fleet aboard U.S.S Des Moines and U.S.S. Iowa while sailing on the Mediterranean Sea.
Duane worked as an electrician for National Forge in Erie and for Boeing Aircraft in Macon, GA. He was last employed at the Wal-Mart Super Center in Meadville in the maintenance dept. until his retirement.
He was a member of the Titusville First United Methodist Church.
Duane was a lifetime member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW.
He enjoyed fishing, working with his hands, going to blue grass festivals with his wife, and being with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
Duane is survived by his wife of Titusville; two children, Arthur Mallory and wife Jody of Titusville, and Susan Buchan and husband Brian of Huntersville, NC; six grandchildren, Tiffany Donor and husband Dave, Kenneth Mallory and wife Sarah, Taylor and Andra Buchan, Kendra and Sarah Jarzenski, and Wesley Daly and fiancé Jessica Sterling; ten great granchildren, Ridik Donor, Keegan, Kalleigh, and Denny Dozer Mallory, and Cailynn, Audrina, Madison, Brooklyn, and Paisley Jarzenski; a brother James Mallory of Townville; and one sister, Linda Mallory of Clearwater, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Duane was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Sharnborg.
No calling hours will be observed. Friends may attend a memorial service on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Titusville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Lee Baker, officiating. Full military rites will be conducted.
Inurnment will be at Jamison Corners Cemetery.
