Obituary of Harold E. Goodwill

Harold “Gene” E. Goodwill Sr., 84, of 704 W. Walnut St., Titusville, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie. Mr. Goodwill was born in Hydetown on February 8, 1932 to the late Harold D. and Dorothy Grove Goodwill. He was a graduate of Colestock High School. Mr. Goodwill married Charlotte I. Jones on February 28, 1962 in Titusville. She preceded him in death on May 20, 2015. He worked as a Jeep Mechanic for 42 years at Universal Cyclops. Mr. Goodwill enjoyed dairy farming, hunting, fishing, camping, and playing with his grandchildren. He preferred to be outside instead of being “stuck inside.” He is survived by a son, Kevin Goodwill of South Carolina; a daughter, Brenda Bedow and husband Edward of Grand Valley; a daughter-in-law, Jenine Goodwill of Titusville; seven grandchildren, Kayla Griffin of Union City, Justin Goodwill of Erie, Grace Goodwill of Titusville, Kyle Bedow of Grand Valley, Melissa Crabtree and husband Darrin of Pittsfield, Edward Bedow Bedow Jr. of Pittsfield, and Marie Goodwill of Titusville; three great-grandchildren, James Griffin, Hunter Crabtree, and Tyler Drake; a brother, Wayne Goodwill of Florida; a sister, Marilyn Davis of Minnesota; three brother-in-laws Emmett “Bud” and wife Dolly Jones, Fred Jones, Rodney Jones and wife Debra all of Titusville; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Jones of Titusville. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a son, Harold Goodwill Jr.; four brothers, Robert, Michael, Marion “Doc”, and Delbert Goodwill; three sisters, Mary Howe, Maxine Goodwill, and Rowean Hicks; and a brother-in-law, Robert Jones. No public services will be observed. Inurnment will be at Troy Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to American Lung Association at www.lung.org.
