Obituary of Freda Russell
Freda Russell of Centerville passed from this life to life eternal on Wednesday, June 29, 2016.
Freda was born in Dade County, Missouri and grew up with her brothers and sisters in Fort Scott, KS. After graduating from high school in Fort Scott, she attended and graduated from college with her Bachelor of Arts degree from Kansas City College and Bible School in Overland Park, KS.
Freda married Joseph Russell on August 14, 1964 at Ft. Scott, KS. She is survived by her husband of Centerville; four children, Randall Russell and wife Theresa of Titusville, Melanie Thomas and husband Richard of Salem, OH, Darrin Russell and wife Janice of Dillsburg, PA, and Carol Lefever and husband Kenneth of Salem, OH. She also looks forward to meeting her surviving eight grandchildren in Heaven someday.
She is also survived by three brothers, Kenneth, Gary and Nathan Wright; three sisters, Melba Hull, Betty Kelso, and Dorothy Reynolds; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noble and Maye Wright; three brothers, James, Jerry, and Leon Wright; and two sisters, Kathryn Harms, and Charlotte Eichelberger.
Freda spent most of her adult life as a good wife and loving mother. She was a member of the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Church where she served as pianist and in various other positions down through the years. She also worked alongside her husband for the last thirty-eight years at the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Academy.
Family and friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Friday from 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service on Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Luther officiating.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Wesleyan Methodist Academy 12116 Church Run Rd. Titusville, PA 16354.
