Obituary of Rose Marie Cicatella

Mrs. Rose Marie Cicatella, 76, of State Hwy 8, Centerville passed away at 2:05 PM on Friday, August 5, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at her residence after a short battle with cancer. Mrs. Cicatella was born on January 16, 1940, in Washington, DC. She was a daughter of the late Paul Brooks. She was raised by her father and her paternal grandmother Frances Brooks. She was a graduate of Wakefield High School and Washington Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Cicatella was formerly employed as a registered nurse in Washington D.C. , then with Arlington Hospital, and retired from Titusville Area Hospital where she was a nurse manager. Rose was well known for her kind and compassionate care that she gave to each patient. Rose was a member of St. Walburga Church. She volunteered her time at Venango Catholic and St. Stephens schools, working community blood pressure clinics, helping to provided funeral dinners for the Catholic Community of Titusville and assisted at Santa’s Workshop. For the past 35 years Rose and Joe have owned Buells Corners Store. Since her retirement Rose had taken a more active role in the operations of the store. Rose enjoyed reciting the Rosary, sewing, gardening, reading and traveling. She especially loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband Joseph Cicatella of Centerville, whom she married on October 21, 1961, at St. Ann’s Church in Arlington, VA; 3 daughters, Christine Cicatella of Titusville, Vicki Henton and husband Mike of Spartansburg, Angela Anderson and husband Mike of Titusville; 7 grandchildren, Crystal Cicatella, Joshua Weidner and wife Amy, Kevin Henton, Kalvin Henton, Karl Henton and companion Jillian Nellis, Billy Anderson, Rose Anderson; and 5 great-grandchildren, Brady Cicatella, Lily Cicatella, Caiden Weidner, Anthony Weidner, Ella Nellis. Rose was preceded in death by her in-laws, Charles and Amelia Cicatella, a granddaughter Allie Mae Henton; and her aunt, Angela Ceresia. Friends may call at the Hennes-Garrett Funeral Home 203 E. Main St., Titusville on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Tuesday at 1:00 PM in St. Walburga Church with Fr. Walter E. Packard, pastor of the Catholic Community of Titusville as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Catharine’s Cemetery.
