Obituary of Wilda A. Yakish
Mrs. Wilda A. Yakish, 90, formerly of 326 Main St., Titusville passed away Monday, August 08, 2016, at the Edna Tina Wilson Living Care facility in Rochester, NY.
Mrs. Yakish was born on March 31, 1926, in Coverdale, PA to the late Jacob and Ann Kaucich. She married Samuel Yakish in 1949. Mr. Yakish preceded her in death (1993).
She was a graduate of Bethel High School, Bethel Park, Pa in 1943, Grace Martin’s Business School in Pittsburgh, and attended the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Yakish and her husband owned and operated the Intown Motel from 1966 to 1993.
She was a member of St. Titus Church, St. Titus Altar and Rosary Society, the YWCA, Titusville Area Hospital Auxiliary, and Titusville Garden Club for many years.
Mrs. Yakish enjoyed crocheting, knitting, flower gardening, reading and playing cards.
She is survived by 4 children, Wilda Liana and husband Henry of Rochester, NY, Karen Schenk and husband Tom of Rochester Hills, MI, Dr. S. Dale Yakish and wife Carol of Wexford, PA, and Dr. Jack Yakish and wife Mary of Erie; 12 grandchildren; 9 great- grandchildren; sister-in-law, 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, Pa 16354 on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM in St. Titus Church with Fr. Walter E. Packard, pastor of the Catholic Community of Titusville, officiating.
