Obituary of Dorothy M. Sybrant

Mrs. Dorothy M. “Dot” Sybrant, 82, formerly of 403 N. Brown St., passed away at 9:20 P.M. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Titusville. She was born in Corry on June 18, 1934 to the late Peter M. and Mary A. Pero Christensen. Mrs. Sybrant attended Corry schools. She married Roger M. Sybrant on June 29, 1951. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1999. Mrs. Sybrant worked as a waitress at the lunch counter of McCrory’s and Bryan True Value Hardware store. She was also formerly employed at GTE Sylvania, Mercer Spring & Wire in Townville, & Bertram’s Restaurant. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, crafting, crocheting, reading, gardening, and crossword puzzles. She was also a member of the Senior League at Lin Van Lanes on Friday afternoons. Her proudest sporting moment was getting a “hole-in-one.” She is survived by a son, Roger Sybrant of Titusville; two grandchildren, Beth McClymonds and husband Seth of Bradford, Liesl Stevenson and husband Doug of Chesapeake, VA; five great-grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua McClymonds, Douglas, Eden, and Bryn Stevenson; a brother, Donald Christensen of Lakewood, WA; two sisters, Betty Beckwith of Berkley, CA and Maren Webster and husband Meredith of Meadville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, Marinus Christensen and a sister, Louise Kaufold. Friends may call at the Hennes-Garrett Funeral Home, 203 E. Main St., Titusville, PA 16354, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. and attend the funeral there on Saturday, at 2 P.M. with Rev. Seth A. McClymonds Jr. officiating. Inurnment will be in Kingsley Cemetery, Townville. Memorial contributions can be made to Benson Memorial Library at 213 N. Franklin St., Titusville, PA 16354; Wesley Woods Inc. at 1001 Fiddlersgreen Rd., Grand Valley, PA 16420; or to a charity of one’s choice.
