Obituary of Barbara K. Beers
Mrs. Barbara K. Beers, 92, formerly of Titusville, died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 10:05 AM at Wesbury United Methodist Community Nursing Home.
Barbara was born on February 14, 1924 in Titusville to the late Eber and Esther Davis Kerr. She married William “Bill” Beers on May 20, 1949.
She attended Titusville Schools and was a graduate of Colestock High School class of 1942.
Barb worked for Robinson’s Wallpaper as an office clerk until her retirement in 1983.
Throughout her life she was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Pleasantville United Methodist Church and Centerville United Methodist Church.
Barb was an avid golfer and bowler in her younger years. She volunteered her time at church, and was known for being a wonderful cook and baker. She also loved being with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Bill of Meadville; two sons, Donald Beers and wife Mary Kay of Seneca, and Edward Beers of Crossingville, PA; five grandchildren, Christian Beers and wife Brenda of Meadville, William Beers and wife Jackie of Cochranton, Tiffany Beers and fiancé Olivier Henrichot of Portland, OR, and Alivia and Nick Beers of Cambridge Springs; four great grandchildren, Bricen Jones, Ryder Beers, Harper Beers, and one on the way; and one sister Shirley Johnson and husband Grant of Ashtabula, OH.
In addition to her parents Barb was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Young and Dorothy Dressler.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. on Thursday from Noon until 2:00PM at which time a service will be conducted with Pastor Sam Marchetta of Wesbury United Methodist Community officiating.
Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Pleasantville.
