Obituary of Curtis F. Gibson

Curtis F. Gibson, Sr., 61, of Titusville, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning September 22, 2016 at the Titusville Area Hospital of natural causes. Curtis was born on September 17, 1955 in Titusville, a son of the late LaVern and Marjorie Barker Gibson. He was married to Nancy Hetrick on September 15, 1972 at Corry. Curtis was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1975. He had been employed in maintenance at Torpedo Specialty Wire for the past 42 years. He was a member of the Titusville BPO Elks No. 264 and a social member of the SAL Halligren-Wilcox Post No. 658 where he was a legion rider. He enjoyed hunting, playing pool, golfing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also assisted his son with his business, Gibson Fireworks. Curtis is survived by his wife Nancy of Titusville; three children, Curtis F. Gibson, Jr. and wife Stacy of Titusville, Jeffrey Gibson and fiancée Tracy Allen of Titusville, and Angela Shaw and husband Keith of Warren; seven grandchildren, Gavin, Brianna, Kaylen, Alissa, Addison, Jackie and Alex; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Gibson of Pittsburgh and Thomas Gibson and wife Cathy of Grand Valley; five sisters, Kathy Zdarko and husband Tony of Warren, Martha Thompson and husband Paul, Virginia Gibson, Elsie Nadell, and Jeanette Gibson, all of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Sukey. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Sunday from 6 to 8 PM. A memorial service will be observed at a later date.
