Obituary of Clarence E. Rumbaugh
Mr. Clarence Eugene Rumbaugh, 88, formerly of Pleasantville, died at 6:00 PM Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Ruleme Center, Eustis, FL, where he had been a resident since October 2013.
Clarence was born October 19, 1928, the son of the late John and Georgia Barker Rumbaugh.
He graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1946.
Mr. Rumbaugh was a veteran of the US Army, having been inducted in October 1946 and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal as a result of his service.
Mr. Rumbaugh was formerly employed at Universal Cyclops in Titusville from which he retired in 1989.
He was a member of the Eagles Club and the American Legion.
Prior to being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2005, Clarence enjoyed hunting, training hunting dogs, gardening, boating, playing cards and travelling.
He is survived by three daughters, Pamela Beightol and husband Bob of Mount Dora, FL; Kathryn Prenatt and husband Mark of Crandall, IN; Stacey LaDuke and husband Jamie of Floyd’s Knobs, IN; one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Rumbaugh of Titusville; two brothers, James Rumbaugh and wife Jean of Pleasantville; and Larry Rumbaugh and wife Vicki of Clinton, OH ;one sister-in-law, Mrs. Ann Rumbaugh of Torrance, CA; six grandchildren, Teri McCook and husband Ian of Maitland, FL; Joshua and Jessica Rumbaugh of Titusville; Erin Conyers and husband Aaron of Floyd’s Knobs, IN; and Jarrett and Josie LaDuke of Floyd’s Knobs, IN; and six great grandchildren, Adam, Mary, Henry and Charlie Conyers, Carlee and Eric McCook; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rumbaugh was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Emma Kay Shaw, who died on June 8, 2008; and his son, Ronald D Rumbaugh, who died in a work-related accident on July 24, 2012. In addition, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marian Hood; and three brothers Harry, George and Charles Rumbaugh.
A graveside service will be held for family and friends at 2:00 p.m., November 21, 2016, at Fairview Cemetery, Pleasantville with Pastor Chuck Riel officiating.
