Obituary of Clarence E. Anthony
Mr. Clarence E. “Spike” Anthony, 93, of Tidioute passed away at 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 04, 2016, at his residence.
Mr. Anthony was born on March 15, 1923, in Pleasantville to the late Bert and Geneva Emerson Anthony. He married Joyce Stoke in 1954. Mrs. Anthony preceded him in death in 2009.
He attended the Riverview School in Tidioute.
Clarence was employed for many years as a heavy equipment operator with the Pennsylvania Dept. of Transportation.
He enjoyed camping, fairs, taking care of his lawn, horses, collecting cans, listening to bluegrass music, and going to Summerville.
Clarence is survived by 4 children, Betty Johnson and companion Rick Leonard of Tidioute, Bert Anthony of Lake City, Lena Silvis and husband James, Roger Anthony both of Tidioute; 2 step-children, Alvin Howe of AZ, Robert Howe and wife Judy of MI; 8 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 203 E. Main St., Titusville, PA 16354 on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ralph Culp, officiating.
Interment will be in Jerusalem Corners Cemetery.
