Obituary of Gerald Kerr
Gerald L. “Jerry” Kerr, 73, of Titusville, formerly of Union City, passed away Tuesday morning December 6, 2016 at Country Acres Personal Care Home in Titusville.
Jerry was born on September 4, 1943 in Titusville, a son of the late Everett and Freda Morris Kerr.
Jerry was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1961. He was a veteran having served in the US Army. He entered the service on April 17, 1969 at Pittsburgh, PA and was honorable discharged on April 17, 1971 at Fort Jackson, SC at which time he served in the reserves until April 16, 1975.
Jerry was last employed at Russell Standard from where he retired. He had also been employed at Troyer Farms, and was a salesman for Kafferlin Farm Equipment.
He was a former member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and of the American Legion in Union City.
He is survived by three brothers, Ronald Kerr and wife Barb of Titusville, Clyde “Ted” Kerr and wife April of North East, and Steven “Nick” Kerr; several nieces and nephews; two aunts, Treva Kerr and Mildred Knight; and a former long-time friend Shirley Owens of Union City and her children Christine Tomasco and Robert Owens.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ione Zazado.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Thursday from noon to 2:00 PM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Pastor Janet Sill of the Bethel United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
