Obituary of Florence Elizabeth Marcy

Mrs. Florence Elizabeth (Byers) Marcy, 97, of Canadohta Lake died at 5:20 AM on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Country Acres Personal Care Home. Mrs. Marcy was born on September 17, 1912 in President a daughter of the late John Garfield and Vernie Belle Byers. Florence was a hairdresser, owning her own beauty parlor in the National Bank Building in Oil City until she married Herbert Marcy on Dec. 21, 1940. Florence is survived by two children, Gary Marcy and his wife Sharyle of Austintown, OH, Kay Patterson and her husband Allen of Titusville; five grandchildren, Shawn Marcy and wife Alice of Norwalk, OH, Shari Marcy of Toledo, OH, Chris Kimmet and husband Chuck of Brentwood, TN, Kelly Gormley and husband Rob of Titusville, Jerry Kemick and wife Diane of Franklin; ten great-grandchildren, Haley Anderson, Colton Kemick, Kahla Kemick, Sean Gormley, Ryan Gormley, Danielle Kimmet, Katrina Kimmet, Joseph Marcy, Noelle Marcy, Brienna Marcy; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Russell Byers, John Byers, George Byers; and one sister, Dorothy Cox. At Florence’s request there will be no viewing or visitation. Friends may attend a funeral service at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Sunday at 2:00 PM with her son Rev. Gary Marcy, officiating. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Oil City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford Co. 310 N. Monroe St., Titusville, PA 16354. FLOWERS
