Obituary of Carol D. Hebets

Carol D. Hebets, 76, formerly of Grand Valley, passed away Friday afternoon January 6, 2017 at the Rouse Home in Youngsville. Carol was born on November 21, 1940 in Centerville, a daughter of the late Harold and Anita Lecker Dorn. She was married to Roland D. Hebets on October 8, 1960 in Centerville. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2004. She was a graduate of Spartansburg High School, class of 1959 and a graduate of the Jamestown School of Nursing where she earned her LPN degree. She had been employed at the Titusville Area Hospital for a number of years. Carol was a member of the Midway Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where she had served as deaconess. She was a volunteer with the Warren County 4H Club and a volunteer with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was a 6th degree member of the Pomona Grange. She baked many pies for charity events. She opened her home to anyone who had a need of any kind. Carol is survived by a daughter, Rose Marie Pennell and husband Paul of Ft. Wayne, IN; a son, Harold L. Hebets of Titusville; many adopted children and grandchildren; two sisters, Marian Adelman of Titusville and Harriet Morris of Erie; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Jessie Dorn, and Anita Dorn Mansfield; a son, Andrew J. Hebets; and the following siblings, Eleanor Smith, Sue Ann Chizewick, Elwood Dorn, Harold Tubbs, Charles Tubbs, and Virginia Foley. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville today (Monday) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and attend the funeral service there on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Eric Schwartzbaugh of the Midway Alliance Church, and Pastor Leroy Learn of the Titusville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, officiating. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Centerville. The family asks that memorials be made to the Midway Alliance Church or to Warren County Hospice.
