Obituary of Betty M. Ames
Mrs. Betty M. Ames, 91, formerly of Goodwill Rd. Titusville, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 9:40 AM at the Titusville Healthcare and Rehab Center.
Betty was born on February 19, 1926 in Greenville to the late D. Duran and Clara Wescoat Hause. She married Albert A. “John” Ames, Jr. on December 22, 1948 in Chapmanville. He preceded her in death on September 26, 2008.
She and her husband owned A.A. Ames Construction and Ames Trailer Court for over 50 years until they sold it to their son Carl in 1994.
Betty enjoyed being with her family, and spending the winter in Florida with her husband for 23 years.
She is survived by her two children, Judy Howard and husband Stanley of Centerville, and Carl E. Ames and wife Pam of Pleasantville; four grandchildren, Tammy Harrington, Lisa Hanlon, Brandy Howard and fiancé Steve Peterson, and Mark Ames; great grandchildren, Shane and Tori Harrinton, Kasey and Brook Baker, Ashley and Robert Crowther, Shania Hanlon, Jeffery Hanlon, Jr., Paige Anthony, Ryan, Megan, and Katelyn Ames; ten great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Edwin L. Hause of Greenville, Wayne Hause and wife Peg of Greenville, and Bruce Hause of Little Rock, AR; and one sister Donna Gilkey of Wooster, OH.
Betty was preceded in death by a brother, Donald D. Hause; and two sisters in law, Betty Hause and Sandy Hause.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from Noon to 2:00 PM at which time a funeral service will be conducted with Pastor Gordon Turk, officiating.
Interment will be in Neilltown Cemetery.
