Obituary of Donald L. Johnson

Mr. Donald L. Johnson, 80, of Grand Valley, died Friday, April 07, 2017 at 1:30 AM at Warren General Hospital. Donald was born on May 11, 1936 in Sanford to the late Frank M. and Winifred A. Goodwill Johnson. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army for 4 years. Donald worked as a welder for Struthers Wells in Titusville and Warren, then for Dorcon and PDM in Warren. He was last employed at Brown Boiler in Franklin. He was a member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW and Cleo J. Ross Post 368 American Legion. Donald enjoyed hunting and fishing, riding four wheelers, gardening, and playing cards. He is survived by his two daughters, Shannan Wheeling and husband Rick of Titusville, and Tammy Holcomb and husband Ron of Florida; two step sons, Darren Titus of Titusville, and Kevin Johnson and wife Kelly of Titusville; six grandchildren, Samantha, Danielle, Megan, and Lindsay Watson, and Dawsyn and Walker Wheeling; two great grandchildren, Gabriella and Sadie; three brothers, Jerry Johnson, Robert Johnson and wife Cynthia, and Dennis Johnson all of Grand Valley; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Donald was preceded in death by two sons, Brad and Jeff Johnson. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at which time a service will be conducted with Rev. Timothy Maybray, pastor of the Titusville Free Methodist Church, officiating.
