Obituary of John H. Bauer

Mr. John H. “The Tranny Man” Bauer, 65, of Pleasantville passed away at 1:15 AM on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at his residence on Titusville Rd. Mr. Bauer was born on April 27, 1951, in Erie to Marjorie LaCour Bauer and the late Henry J. Bauer. He married Kandy Anthony on August 15, 1992, in Waterford. John was a graduate of Harborcreek High School, class of 1970, and served 12 years in the US Army Reserves. He worked his entire life in the automotive industry as a transmission specialist and parts dealer for Larry’s Auto, Baker Auto and most recently Hovis Auto. John was a member of the Titusville T-Free Methodist Church and the Cleo J. Ross Post 368 American Legion. He volunteered his time as a Boy Scout Leader, soccer coach, and Special Olympics coach. He self-taught himself how to play guitar, harmonica and ukulele. John loved the outdoors riding his motorcycle, hiking, and bicycling throughout the area. He also enjoyed restoring automobiles and most recently fixing up bicycles to give to those in need. John’s greatest gift to family and friends was his sense of humor. He is survived by his wife Kandy Bauer of Pleasantville; 2 children, Kim Bauer of Edinboro, Bryan Bauer and wife Amy of Wesleyville; his mother, Marjorie Bauer of Lake City; 2 grandchildren, Anthony Peace of Waterford, Destiny Bauer of Wesleyville; 2 brothers, Richard Bauer and wife Lisa of Harborcreek, Daniel Bauer and wife Debra of Lake City; 3 sisters, Cindy Sutton of Erie, Laurie Nelson and husband Matt of Erie, Margie Newman and husband Carmen of North East; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, PA 16354 on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Timothy Maybray, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford County 406 W. Oak St., Titusville, PA 16354 or to the T-Free Methodist Church 42490 State Hwy 27, Titusville, PA 16354.
