Obituary of Cecelia Rose Carone
Mrs. Cecelia Rose Carone, 91, a resident of Country Acres Personal Care Home in Titusville, passed away at 4:00 AM on Monday, April 10, 2017.
Mrs. Carone was born on January 18, 1926 in Oil City to the late Valentine and Rosella Poweska. She was the youngest of five children.
She was a graduate of Oil City High School, class of 1944 and later attended beauty school.
She married Albert Carone on February 21, 1948.
They resided in Oil City until 1967, when they purchased the Tally Ho Cafe and moved to Franklin. Her cooking abilities greatly attributed to the success of this business.
While she lived in the Oil City/Franklin area she attended both St. Stephen’s and St. Patrick’s Catholic Churches.
In 1989 they sold the cafe and retired to Port Orange, Fl. She loved the sun and spent time outdoors sun bathing, swimming and golfing. She also enjoyed cooking and reading. While in Florida she attended the Epiphany Catholic Church. Upon the death of her husband, Albert, she returned to the Franklin area.
She is survived by seven children, Rick Carone and his wife Julie of Westminster , CO, Tony Carone of Franklin, Rose “Dodie” Schmidt and her husband Rick of Deland, FL, Jan Carone and his wife Cindi of Franklin, Judy Cochran and her husband Bill of Titusville, Joe Carone and his wife Tina of Franklin and Therese Beach and her husband Jim of Daytona, FL. She also had 17 grandchildren, Maria Dean and her husband Brad of Broomfield, CO, Laura Caton and her husband Jon of Broomfield, CO, Bill Cochran and his wife Jaime of Fort Myers, FL, Rian Cochran and his wife Josephine of Oslo, Norway, Kate Barr and her husband Ethan of Minneapolis, MN, Abby Cochran of NYC, NY, Rick Schmidt and his wife Melissa of Port Orange, FL, Mike and John Schmidt of Port Deland, Carle Davis of Daytona, FL, Marissa McCarthy and her husband Patrick of Fayetteville, Josh Carone of Franklin, Tarina Carone of Franklin, Alexandra Carone of Princeton, NJ, Carmen Carone of Pittsburgh, Jennifer Carone of Franklin and Zachary Beach of Daytona, FL. She also had 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Carone was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; two brothers, John and Tony; two sisters, Josephine Yarzabek and Sister Therese Poweska.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, 949 Liberty Street, Franklin, PA 16323 at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2017. It will be a celebration of her life and our joyful anticipation of joining her, with all others who have departed this life in Jesus Christ. Family and friends will be received, following with a luncheon.
Interment of ashes will be in Calvary Cemetery, Oil City.
