Obituary of Gary Duane Wolfe
Mr. Gary Duane Wolfe, 63, of 665 Deets School Rd., Titusville died at 8:30 PM on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Pittsburgh following an extended illness.
Mr. Wolfe was born on Sept. 27, 1946 in Titusville to the late Carl L. and Jean M. Atkinson Wolfe.
He was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1965.
After graduation Gary joined the US Marine Corp. He was stationed for 3 ½ years in Chu-Lai, Vietnam and in 1969, was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was very proud of his accomplishments and the rank he obtained during his time in the Marines.
Gary returned to Titusville and was employed for 19 ½ years in the Rolling Mill with Cyclops Specialty Steel and Cytemp Steel. He retired when the plant closed.
He was a lifetime member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW, Cleo J. Ross Post 368 American Legion, Titusville Moose Club, National Rifle Assoc., and the North American Fishing Club. He loved spending time with his family especially at cookouts. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter.
Mr. Wolfe is survived by his son, Michael Wolfe and his wife Michelle of Palm Bay, FL; two grandchildren, Thomas and Shannon Wolfe of Palm Bay, FL; one brother, Duane A. Wolfe of Titusville; two sisters, Joan Lindsay and husband Charles of Sebastian, FL, Debra Barker and husband Thomas of Titusville; several nieces and nephews, Joseph Lindsay and wife Shannon, Thomas Lindsay and wife Erin, Charles Lindsay Jr. and wife Andrea all of Florida, Justin Wolfe and companion Becky Mandaville, Olivia Wolfe, Thomas Barker Jr., and Kaleena Barker all of Titusville; and several great nieces and nephews. Gary will be greatly missed by his dog and best friend “Buddy.”
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services along with full military rites will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Dr. Barry E. Cressman, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
