Obituary of Fred Allen Nason

Fred Allen Nason, 59, of York, South Carolina, died at home on March 23, 2010 from lung cancer caused by Agent Orange exposure arising from his service in Viet Nam. He was born December 5, 1950 in Titusville, Pennsylvania and graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Titusville in 1968. After being honorable discharge from the Army Fred attended Jamestown Business College in Jamestown, New York. He owned an insurance agency in Jamestown, New York which he sold to move to Tega Cay, South Carolina in 1983. Until his retirement in December, 2009, he served as the Lake Wylie branch manager for Watson Insurance of the Carolinas. He was active on various community boards, helped initiate the Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours, and during his children’s youth volunteered his time coaching and being a Commissioner of little league and girls softball. He is survived by his wife, Karen Petroski (Nadolny) Nason, sons Allen Nason and Matthew Nadolny, daughters Kristie Nason, Lisa Nadolny and Jennifer Nadolny, and grandchildren Emilie Claire and Everett Nason and Kaidyn Nadolny. Surviving also are his brother Edward Nason and sister Mary Nason Anthony. He was predeceased by his father Fred Morse Nason and mother Jean Deogard Nason, and an infant sister Martha Mae Nason. Visitation will be at Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home in Titusville from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, March 29. Fred will thereafter be interned in a private ceremony at Fairview Cemetery in Pleasantville, Pennsylvania. Memorial donations can be made to the Titusville Alumni Association, 302 E.
