Obituary of Catherine M. Day

Mrs. Catherine M. “Kay” Day, 82, of 449 S. Perry St., Titusville died at 10:20 PM on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Titusville Area Hospital. Mrs. Day was born on March 22, 1928, at Titusville to the late Joseph B. and Loretta Biel McNamara. She married Ronald G. Day on Aug. 11, 1951 at St. Titus Church. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Titusville and was a past member of St. Titus Church. Mrs. Day was a former member of the Titusville Country Club Ladies Golf Association. She was an avid fan of nature and wildlife. She took care of and fed many birds and animals in her surroundings. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Day is survived by two sons, Gary M. Day and Richard K. Day and his wife Sandra all of Titusville; three grandchildren, Ashleigh Day of Tucson, AZ, Simon Smock and Aimee Day of Titusville; three nieces Carol Smith, Kathy Kuhns and Patty Quinn all of Titusville; and several great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Day was preceded in death by one son, Scott J. Day who died Aug. 19, 1981, and one sister, Joanne Quinn. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home on Friday from 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service from the funeral home on Saturday at 2:00 PM with Fr. D.G. Davis III, pastor of the Catholic Community of Titusville, officiating. Interment will be in St. Catharines Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to your local Humane Society. FLOWERS
