Obituary of Mary A. Wonderling
Mrs. Mary A. Wonderling, 96, surrounded by her loving family, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, April 12, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Spartansburg after a brief illness.
Mrs. Wonderling was born on July 17, 1913 at Brownsville, PA, a daughter of the late Louie and Victoria Horvath Balatine. She was married to John R. Wonderling on August 2, 1933 at Findlay Lake, NY. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1996.
Mrs. Wonderling had been employed at Benson Memorial Library as a custodian for 32 years until her retirement in 1984.
She was a member of the Titusville Free Methodist Church for 56 years where she belonged to the Joy Sunday School Class and the Missionary Society of the church.
She is survived by two sons, Richard E. Wonderling and his wife Verna of Oil City and Charles E. Wonderling of Belingham, Washington; three daughters, Cathryn Young and her husband Larry of Hayes, VA, Elaine Hallberg and her husband David of Spartansburg, and Dorothy Burrows and her husband James of Titusville; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John R. Wonderling, Jr.; two brothers, John and Stephen Balatine; three sisters, Dolly Balatine, Ann Tupy and Catherine Beroldi; and a daughter-in-law, Francis Wonderling.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville today (Wednesday) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Timothy Maybray pastor of the Free Methodist Church and Rev. Marshall Lillie Chaplain for the Crawford Co. Hospice, officiating.
Interment will be in Worthville Cemetery.
