Obituary of Lila W. Burrows

Lila W. Burrows, 80, formerly of the Billie Brown Building, passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 at Country Acres Personal Care Home where she had resided since this past February. She was born in Titusville on October 30, 1929, a daughter of the late Harry and Florence Pieper Hipple and had lived most of her life in this area. Lila was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1947 and then attended Bob Jones University in South Carolina. During her working career, she had been employed at the former Struthers Wells Corp., National Forge and Grand Valley Manufacturing. She was married to Minford Burrows on February 7, 1981 in Titusville. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1983. Lila served as tax collector for Allegheny Township for several years. She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Titusville where she served in various capacities. She was the pianist and organist for many years and dedicated her life to serving the Lord. She exuded the Christian spirit and was loved by all who knew her. Lila authored the book “My Child, Let Me Take The Wheel” which was a testimony to how God helped her overcome depression and was an encouragement to many people. She is survived by a sister, June Murphy of Virginia Beach, VA; 3 stepchildren, Janet Burrows of Lancaster County, Keith Burrows and wife Gloria of Arizona, and Don Burrows and wife Ruby of Ashtabula, OH; two nieces, Mrs. George (Susan) Sadowski of Virginia Beach, VA and Mrs. Coleman (Sherry) Motes of Moyoc, NC; and a nephew, Sam Stover of Virginia Beach, VA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Larry Lawrence in 2006. Friends may call at the Titusville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church today (Monday) from 10 AM to 11 AM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Pastor Troy Funte, officiating.
