Obituary of Doris Maxine Dowling Wescoat
Doris Maxine Dowling Wescoat, 84, formerly of Titusville, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Meadville following an extended illness.
Doris was born on December 23, 1932 at Cherry Valley, PA, a daughter of the late Clarence and Fay Garner Irwin. She was married to Louis W. Dowling on Jan. 12, 1951. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1980. She later married Marion “Red” Wescoat on Sept. 21, 1987. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1997.
Doris was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1950.
She was a member of the Titusville First Presbyterian Church.
She enjoyed bowling and golfing in her earlier years.
Doris is survived by a son, David A. Dowling of Oklahoma City, OK; two daughters, Diane Burke and husband Peter of Naples, FL and Catherine Dowling of Erie; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Irwin of York, PA and H. Lee Irwin of Marietta, GA; a sister, Naomi Popeney of Titusville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sons, John W. Dowling, Timothy I. Dowling, and Richard L. Dowling.
No public calling hours will be observed.
Inurnment will be in St. Catharines Cemetery.
