Obituary of Stephen R. Balatine

               Mr. Stephen R. Balatine, 69, of Union City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at the Millcreek Community Hospital, after a lengthy illness.

               He was born in Corry on May 29, 1948 to the late Stephen and Daisy Seeley Balatine.

               Stephen graduated from Corry High School, class of 1966.

               He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served on the USS Hardwood.  He enlisted on July 5, 1967 and was honorably discharged with rank of BT3 on April 5, 1971.  He obtained the National Defense service medal, meritorious unit Vietnam Gallantry cross, and meritorious unit commendation.

               Stephen worked at Corry Foam, AK Steel, and Cytemp Specialty Steel.

               He enjoyed hunting and loved to fish, especially for trout.

               Stephen is survived by a brother, Fred Jones and companion Rhonda Brown of Titusville; two sisters, Patsy Glenn and husband Ronald of Corsica and Deb Zacherl and husband Steve of Shippenville; seven nieces and nephews and twelve great nieces and nephews. 

               Friends and family may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, PA 16354, on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 5 to 6 PM, at which time the funeral will be held with Pastor Janet Sill officiating.

               Interment will be in St. Catharines Cemetery.
