Obituary of Robert D. Marvin, Sr.

Robert D. Marvin, Sr., 87, of Townville, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Titusville Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.

               He was born in Troy Center, on his mother’s 21st birthday, on May 29, 1930 to the late Elmer and Marjorie DeRemer Marvin.

               Bob married Dorothy Snyder on March 10, 1949.  She preceded him in death on August 7, 1990.

               He worked earlier in life for Howes Tire Shop, Buddy L. Waid Logging, and Dallas Lumber (Matteson’s) until his retirement.

               Bob enjoyed going fishing and hunting with his son and son in laws and grandchildren.  He enjoyed playing bingo at the Titusville VFW and Hydetown VFD.

               He was a life member of the Bruce Shorts VFW Post 5958 and the Titusville PNA.

               Bob is survived by five children, Kathy Dennis and husband Cecil of Townville, whom he made his home with for over 22 years, Nadine Wight and husband John of Kirkland, WA, Vicki Pratt and husband Kenneth of Guys Mills, Richard Marvin, Sr. of West Virginia, and Robert D. Marvin, Jr. and companion Becky Smith of Conneaut Lake; a daughter in law,  Laura Marvin of Chapmanville; a son in law William Daly, Sr. of Titusville; seventeen grandchildren, Tina Shetler and husband John, Stacy Daly and companion Brandy Wilson, Jody Mallory and husband Art, Michael Tucker and wife Mary, Crystal Porter and husband Matthew, Kari Wight, Stacey Wight, Barbara Lindsey and husband Mike, Rita Marvin, Blaine Marvin, Jr., Jason Day and wife Andrea, Angela Shamp and husband Mason, Norman Pratt and wife Kerri, Richard Marvin, Jr., Niccole Williamson and husband Danny, Savannah Conn and husband Chris, Haley Grzebyk and husband Chris, Noah Marvin; three step grandchildren, Jim Dennis and wife Tracy, Tammy Collins and husband Chris, Candi North and husband Tracy; thirty-one great grandchildren, William Daly III and wife Samantha, Angel Daly, Shawn Shetler and wife Chrissie, John Shetler, Jr., and wife Connie, Destiny Dean, Joann Wilson, Kendra Daly-Jarzenski and wife Sarah, Wesley Daly, Jesse Tucker, Mallaki Tucker, Austin Porter, Zachary Porter, Chaise Tucker, Brittany Lindsey, Nicholas Lindsey, Alex Marvin, Faith Marvin, Dorian Day, Walker Day, Giddeon Shamp, Rowan Shamp, Tanis Shamp, Maddison Pratt, Hunter Pratt, Wyatt Pratt, Diezel Marvin, Novah Marvin, Maddox Miller, Clint Williamson, Penelope Conn, Elizabeth Conn, and Lucas Grzebyk; twelve great great grandchildren, Cadyn andAndria Shetler, Colten and McKenzie Daly, Cailynn, Audrina, Madison, Brookelynn, Paisley Daly-Jarzenski, Aubrie Lindsey, Diesel Rowland, Maggie Grace Marvin, and Kevin McBride; seven step great grandchildren, Jessica and Kevin Dennis, Joshua and Jarrett Collins, Tracy, Bryce, and Kenneth North; one great granddaughter, one great great granddaughter, and one great great grandson on the way; a brother, Bruce Marvin, Sr. of Meadville; two sisters, Patricia Sites and husband Bobby of Dover, DE, and Janet Frutiger and husband George of Townville; a sister in law, Janet Marvin of Guys Mills; an uncle, Ed Marvin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

               He was preceded in death by three daughters, Nancy Jean Marvin, Marjorie Eyla Marvin, and Linda Marvin Daly; a son, Blaine Dale Marvin, Sr.; two grandsons, William “Willie Daly, Jr. and Elmer “Tuck” Tucker, Jr.; a granddaughter in law, Tory Marvin; and a brother, David Marvin.

               Friends and family may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, PA 16354 on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 10 Am to Noon, at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Glen VanCise officiating.

               Interment will be in Troy Center Cemetery.
