Obituary of Doris Mary Cook
Doris M. Cook, 93, of Titusville, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at her home.
She was born in Pittsburgh on January 25, 1924 to the late Michael and Ruth Farmin Miller.
Doris graduated high school and went on to secretarial school in Pleasantville. She worked in Washington DC for some time, and came back to the area and retired from the Titusville Herald.
She married Howard Cook on April 1, 1964 in Townville. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2005.
She attended Diamond Evangelical United Methodist Church.
Doris played the piano and organ at church. She enjoyed gardening and mowing and crafting.
She is survived by four children, Susan Elm of Titusville, Frederick Elm of Virginia Beach, VA, David Elm of Raymond, NH, and William Laskey and Chris of Fountain Inn, SC; two step-children, Norma Gamble and Michael of Garnett, KS and Norman Cook and Betty of Guys Mills; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by three children, Shirley McCurdy, James A. Cook, and Wayne Cook; four siblings, William Miller, Phyllis Southwick, Lois Howkins, and Nancy Miller.
No public services will be observed.
Inurnment will be in East Troy Cemetery.
