Obituary of Ruth E. Bodamer

Mrs. Ruth E. Bodamer, 95, of 405 N. Monroe St. Titusville, died Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Titusville Area Hospital. Mrs. Bodamer was born on February 6, 1916 at Shamburg, PA, a daughter of the late Samuel and Myrtle Fogle Osborn. She was married to Frederick W. “Fred” Bodamer on April 17, 1935 in Titusville. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1971. Ruth had been employed for a number of years as a secretary for the administration at the Titusville Area Hospital. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with the grandchildren. She is survived by three children, Thomas F. Bodamer and his wife Cathy of Titusville, Diane Ekdahl and her husband Verne of Chandlers Valley, and James Bodamer and his wife Sally of Titusville; 12 grandchildren, Tom Bodamer and wife Kim of Winchester, VA, Diane Sanford and husband Shane of Grove City, Tim Bodamer and wife Jill of LaPlata, MD, Bekah Bodamer of Erie, Ken Bodamer of Gaffney, SC, Lisa Bovard and husband Wade of Delaware, OH, Elaine Nelson of Jamestown, NY, Ann Kimmel and husband Mark of Gallatin, TN, Doug Bodamer and wife Lisa of Tucson, AZ, Steve Bodamer and wife Lisa of Pleasantville, Lynne Jensen and husband Phil of Harrisburg, and David Bodamer and wife Kris of Clymer, NY; 29 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Joe Bodamer and wife Sharron of Dupont, WA; two nieces, Margo Young and husband Jack of Albion and Marcy Kiesnowski and husband Thad of Manassas, VA; a nephew, Ralph “Chip” Osborn and wife Elaine of Titusville; and AFS exchange student , Peter Burger and wife Christine of Bern, Switzerland. Peter has remained close to the family since he was hosted by them from 1957 to 1958. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Osborn. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM. Further visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 to 2 PM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Mrs. Jacqueline Wagner, senior assistant to the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Neilltown Cemetery. The family asks that memorials be made to the Titusville Church of Christ, Benson Memorial Library, Titusville Area Hospital, or to the charity of one’s choice FLOWERS
