Connie Garrity
Ted, Karen, Karli & Kyle,
We are sorry to hear about your families loss. You are all in our thoughts.
I worked in the office of Goodea Construction Co. while Sam was employed as a Superintendent. I just retired this month.
I enjoyed working with Sam and unfortunately had not seen him since he left the company.
I am saddened to hear of his passing. I considered him to be a friend.
Sam, you were the best neighbor/friend one could wish for. So thankful for the way you looked out for me and how generous you were in sharing your knowledge and expertise. I have many warm thoughts and special memories of times spent with you and Donna. Remembering how very funny you could be and yes, (to borrow a phrase from Jim) a tad cranky, smile. I'll miss you and always remember you as the very unique, meticulous, methodical person you were. Rest peacefully in God's hands.
May the warm and special memories we all share of you be a comfort to your family.
I was saddened to hear of Sam's passing; he and Donna had been among our first friends when my husband and I moved into The Heather in Florida. We could not have asked for better friends/neighbors. I especially remember past Halloween neighborhood celebrations when Sam and Donna sat outside for hours, welcoming the children and distributing home made goodies to them, and many adults as well. I have to admit their offer to help myself to some was eagerly looked forward to, and never refused. It was always delicious, and one of my grandchildrens' favorite homes to "trick or treat". Sam and Sonny found a common bond since both of them preferred to do their own repairs to their homes. Each of them had a wide variety of tools and since they were both qualified for the task and respectful of each other's tools, there was no hesitation to lending a hand or a tool, or both. I'm absolutely sure if there are any repairs to be done in Heaven (perhaps a harp needing restringing), Sam and Sonny will be among the first volunteers. I'll picture that in my mind when remembering them, finally happy to be useful again, and suffering no more illness. God Bless You, Sam, Donna, and all your family and friends.
We were saddened to hear of the passing of Sam Wilson. We have known Sam for many years and were members of the Heather Golf and Country Club when Sam and Donna were members there. I had recently spoken to Sam prior to the move he was making and wished him well on his new life away from Florida. He was a good friend and I for one will miss him and his sense of Humor. I am presently the President of the Heather Property Owners Association and will post a memorial in our Newsletter to let all who knew him of his passing. Our sincere condolences to the family and may his memory never fade.
Sam, you were a wonderfully engaging neighbor - although, at times, you could be a tad cranky, you were, never the less, always enthusiastic, energetic and active - it was always a pleasure to see you and to interact with you - I'm very fortunate to have moved into a house across the street from you and to have known you these last eight years - thank you for your many kindnesses - I am privileged to have called you friend - may you rest peacefully forever - bless you Sam
