Obituary of Birdena B. Fink
Miss Birdena B. Fink, 86, formerly of Fink Ridge, Centerville, died at 8:45 PM on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Meadville Rehabilitation Center in Meadville.
Ms. Fink was born on May 1, 1924 in Titusville to the late David and Hazel Dey Fink.
She went to school at Fink Ridge and became a licensed practical nurse after completing her studies at the Venango County Area Vocational Technical School.
Ms. Fink was previously employed as a missions nurse for the All Tribes Indian Mission in New Mexico. She then moved back to the area and was employed as and LPN at Titusville, Meadville, and Oil City until her retirement.
She was a member of the former Fink Ridge Holiness Church. She also enjoyed organic gardening.
Ms. Fink is survived by two sisters, Alice Muir of Centerville, Dorothy Rose of Titusville; one brother, Bernard Fink and wife Elva of Centerville; three nephews, Ellis Muir, Howard Muir and wife Debbie of Centerville, David Fink and wife Amanda of Titusville; a niece, Hazel Brown and husband Charles of Titusville; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Fink and Charles Fink who died in infancy.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service from the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Christopher Kempa, pastor of the East Titusville Evangelical Wesleyan Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the Fink Ridge Cemetery.
