Obituary of Elizabeth Marie Wallace

Elizabeth “Betty” Marie Wallace, 94, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie.

               She was born in Flushing, OH on February 23, 1923 to the late Henry and Agnes Clickett Zanetti.

               Betty graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in New York City, class of 1941.

               She was married to George Wallace for thirty-seven years.

               She worked at Westinghouse Electric Company, Bell Telephone as a telephone operator in Turtle Creek, PA, Kresge’s in Monroeville, and retired from G.C. Murphy Co. in 1985 after twenty-two years.

               Betty was a member of St. Titus Church. 

               She was a member of AARP, Titusville Chapter 2511.  She volunteered for the American Cancer Society and at Central Towers.  She was an avid Steelers fan and a Penguins fan.

               Betty is survived by a daughter, Eva Leithead and husband Joe, Sr. of Erie; a granddaughter, Kelly Johnson and husband Kevin of Titusville; and a step grandson, Joe Leithead of Centerville; a step great granddaughter, Alyssa Leithead; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special friend, Rose Zinchini of Erie.

               She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Panichello; an infant daughter, and grandson, Brian A. Patterson.

               Friends and family may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, PA 16354 on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 2 to 4 PM, and funeral service to follow with Father Walter E. Packard officiating.

               Interment will be in St. Catherines Cemetery.
