Obituary of Florence A Gustafson

Florence A. Gustafson, 99, of Titusville, passed away Saturday morning September 2, 2017 at the Sarah Reed Senior Living in Erie.

            Florence was born on May 14, 1918 at Hemlock Lake, NY, a daughter of the late Ralph and Deane Sherman James.  She was married to Amel B. Gustafson on January 24, 1942 in Pleasantville.  He preceded her in death on July 21, 1978.

            Florence was a graduate of the Pleasantville High School, class of 1936.

            She had been employed as an office manager for Ellis Day Furniture for a number of years.

            She was a member of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church; a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, DAR; a former member of the former Acacia Chapter No. 30 O.E.S.; a member of the Pleasantville Lioness Club; and a member of the Pleasantville Senior Citizens.

            Florence had also served as a volunteer at the Titusville Area Hospital and also at the snack shop there.  She had also enjoyed gardening.

            Florence is survived by a son, William C. Gustafson and his wife Diana of Erie; two grandsons, Craig and wife Melissa and Christopher Gustafson both of Erie; a great granddaughter, Kaylyn and Evan Gustafson; a sister, Wilma Watson and husband David of Tidioute; two nieces, Karen Bajorek and Diane Rossner; and three nephews, James Watson, David Watson and Dale Gustafson.

            In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph James.

            No public calling hours will be observed.

            Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 2: 00 PM at the Pleasantville United Methodist Church, 102 Merrick Street, Pleasantville, PA 16341 with Pastor Lee Baker officiating.

            Inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pleasantville.
