Obituary of David John Reitmeyer
Mr. David “Packy” J. Reitmeyer, 87, of Titusville, passed away on September 28, 2017 at the Titusville Area Hospital.
He was born in Pittsburgh on July 15, 1930 to the late Harry and Anna Werwie Reitmeyer.
David graduated from Langley High School in Pittsburgh.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
David married Elaine Howard Smith on June 4, 1986.
He retired from Cytemp Specialty Steel Corporation after thirty-six years of employment.
David was a member of the Titusville Elks Lodge 264.
He was an avid golfer, an outdoors sportsman, a member of the “Over the Hill Gang” who helped with the Gerard Trail in Oil Creek State Park, and volunteered at the Toy Shop for the handmade gifts for children for the holidays.
David is survived by his loving wife of thirty-one years, Elaine of Titusville; two sons, David F. Reitmeyer and wife Debbie of Holly Springs, NC and Brad Reitmeyer and wife Marcia of Titusville; a step-son, Howard Smith of Lake City; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Lacey, Grant, Ivy, Darcie, Alexia, Zack, and Andie; and seventeen great grandchildren.
He was the youngest of ten siblings, in which they all preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Brown Reitmeyer.
No public services will be observed.
