Obituary of Richard A. Waddell
Richard A. Waddell, 81, of Pleasantville, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning October 19, 2017 at the Titusville Area Hospital.
Richard was born on March 24, 1936 at Oil City, PA, a son of the late James and Gladys Riffenberg Waddell. He was married to Bonnie Burlingame on November 29, 1958 at Pleasantville.
Richard was a graduate of Pleasantville High School, class of 1954.
He was a veteran having served in the US Air Force. He entered the service on May 13, 1955 and was honorably discharged on Feb. 6, 1959 with the rank of Airman 1st Class.
Richard had been employed at the former Cytemp Specialty Steel Corp. as a millwright until his retirement.
Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting firewood, and the outdoors. He also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. He enjoyed most spending time with his grandsons.
Richard is survived by his wife Bonnie of Pleasantville; a son, Richard A. Waddell, Jr. and his wife Joanne of Meadville; two grandsons, Joseph Richard and Samuel Lawrence Waddell; a sister, Marilyn Houghtling and husband John of Springfield, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James C. Waddell, Jr.; and two sisters, Dorothy Mae Nichols and Margaret Ann “Peggy” Waddell.
No public calling hours will be observed. Private interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pleasantville.
